Self Portrait 6.5 x 7" Graphite on Paper
I spoke with someone tonight about doing a abstracted portrait of them. I always make my portraits recognizable, however, when I sat down tonight to do myself as a painter, I found the expression of pure abstraction emerged. This is a portrait of the part of me that comes to life when I am visually expressing myself. I have my palette to the right and my creative process is defined by the free-flowing interior while my thought process is defined by geometric structures, which are structured, but outside the box. I love this piece and oddly this is right on.
