A visual soundscape artist: painter of music

Visualizing Music

Visualizing conceptual considerations of music has been a preoccupation of mine since I was young. I spent my youth at the foot of my mother's piano jumping around, trying to catch all the colors that would eminate from the air itself, as she played her favortie pieces. I didn't realize until much later that I had synesthesia. I first heard of it during, a short time studying at Cambridge. I just presumed everyone had my experience, but also that no one ever seemed to talk about it. After seeing Fantasia for the first time, I remember being quite a bothered little kid. "That isn't at all what music looks like!" I explained to my mother. The difference between me and many other sysnasteets is that I actually want to show the magic of music, not from my world but between worlds, in ways that can engage novel thinking about music and art. My interests are in visualizing the physics of music, musicality itself, composers thought processes and what orchestration looks like, the physicality of performance, sounds, essentially, all things musically related. My work is more about the integral thought and physical processes that unique musical performance and authorship, brings.
