The Sonorous String
Nothing makes my hairs stand on end quite like the sonorous elegance of a master upon a string. It doesn’t matter if it’s a violin or a guitar. There is something about a string’s resonance and aspiring singularity above all other sounds that heightens the senses. A single melody can embody beauty within its soaring structure and then collapse into nothingness within a breaths time. Strings are perfect for this. They swell, soar, ebb and gently fall away. But when a string is soaring at its height, there is auditory ecstasy. Today’s drawing is the beauty of that sonorous melody soaring through space.
