The Florida Everglades

One of the things I’ve always wanted to do is take an airboat ride  through the Everglades.  For some reason this has always been envisioned with my sister Erika who is an avid birdwatcher.   We often go on our outdoor adventures together, mostly because she is the only other person I know who enjoys the great outdoors as well and the only one who is happily available to join up at the first sign of an adventure.  We used to go camping together and have more crazy stories than anyone I know, including the time I was four feet away from being attacked by a black bear on its grunting – hind legs.  I don’t remember ever being so breathlessly still in my life.  Nor inhaling so slowly that I could stop time, nor, gathering my strength for one massive outburst, which involved shrieking more loudly than any time in all my life.  The towering bear wasn’t very happy about it either!  So today’s drawing is for Erkia.  It’s our airboat ride through the everglades.
