Marin Alsop’s experience as a student of Bernstein helped shape her current style. It is empowered, deliberate and yet, with beauty of her personal envisioned structure of the journey at hand. The shape of her visual work puts all the heavy lifting and structural cohesion within the body of her motions where she then applies the beauty of the sounds to hang.
She is an active, advocate for woman creators, musicians and their musical experience. She does not conduct as a woman. You simply see and hear a great conductor with a purposed mind toward the music at hand. She is a conductor of many firsts for women but she continually highlights those women who have come before her, in order to help those will come after.
“Music has the power to change lives, it’s transformative and if I can bring that to someone else, my life will be worth it.” Marin Alsop
