Into the Blue by Britt Conley. I created this work in 2015 for jazz composer and saxophonist John Kocur. This was part of a collaboration with him and several other wonderful jazz composers. I asked John to send me files of his compositions and after listening for some time, I set out to make a painting that would represent his musical writing style. I provided him with the finished painting for him to then compose a new original composition to, which he titled, Out of the Blue. He arrived the night of the opening to perform the new piece with the others. It was the first time I heard any of the compositions. I highly recommend his albums JohnKocur.com
